There has been a 700 percent increase over the course of one year.
Apprehensions of Chinese nationals by the Border Patrol at U.S.-Mexico international border crossings have skyrocketed.
In the last quarter of 2022, Customs and Border Protection apprehended 1,862 trying to cross the southern border. In the same months of 2021, just 229 migrants were apprehended at the southern border.
A media report stated, “The number of Chinese nationals illegally crossing into the U.S. this fiscal year, which kicked off in October, is set to eclipse the total number caught in the entirety of 2022.”
Most are adults, ranging in age from their 20s to their 50s.
